We jumped on the normal bus that I always take back to the terminal and then we grab a metro back to the city where we live. While we were on our first bus we kept seeing crowds of people on the streets. We later found out that there had been a soccer game between 2 different teams in Ecuador, Quito and Guayaquil, Liga vs. Barcelona. All of a sudden I see tons of people running around the corner and I know that something isn't right. Right along behind them came a huge police tank firing smoke bombs at them. All of the locals on our bus immediately shut all of the windows and doors and the lady sitting next to us held her hand over her childs face. So there was some fighting and rioting going on because of the game. Our bus finally got to a main road and said it couldn't go further because of the amount of police, traffic and people crowding the streets. Stef and I jumped off the bus and walked to the Metro station but it was closed. Thank goodness I knew the area well although I had never walked it before. There was crowds of yellow shirted fans and then crowds of white shirted fans. We tried to stay out of the middle of them and got out of the way of the police on horses and motorcycles. We walked up out of the drama and finally caught a bus back to the city. It was a bus I had never taken before but it got us to the exact place we needed to be. All in all it was a very exciting day but we were glad to get home.

Orphanage Visit
So this last week in Eucador was called Semana Santa which holds very big traditions in this country. There are parades, family traditions, certain foods to eat, etc. I felt like it would be a great weekend to go visit the kiddos at the orphanage. They don't have families to be with and they are left out of the traditions that normally would take place. So Steph and I headed out on Sunday to go visit them. We stopped by a store first to buy them bubbles. The kids just love bubbles and we wanted them to have a special day. We arrived around lunch time and helped feed the babies and then the older kids their lunch. Jonathan fell asleep while I was feeding him soup so I hauled him off to bed. There was a new girl there and she kept crying and crying and didn't want to eat anything. It is always so hard on the kids when they are new to the home and it usually takes them awhile to adjust. After lunch we handed out the bubbles and played with the kids at the park and then headed back home.
