I hope this update finds you well. As most of you know, I arrived last week in Quito. Knowing that I will be here for some time, I had been quite busy getting ready to leave Miami. I was so tired on the flight that I slept through my meal! After customs and immigration, I was washed out into a crowd of people and outdoors before I knew it. At almost ten o´clock at night it was dark and rainy on the busy streets full of taxi, buses and vans. As I sat on my luggage and thought, I was overwhelmed with the feeling of being exactly where I needed to be. As the chaos grew around me, I felt nothing but peace. Carrie and a friend of hers picked me up in a van and took me to our place. Its on the north side of the city on the 4th floor and its just perfect. It feels like our safe haven. I unpacked and slept...
